The original founder of commercial Pet Transport Services in Victoria started in Petcabs 1982 when pet transport for owners with pets was non-existent in Melbourne and suffering her own personal dilemma of not finding any local pet transport services available to drive her and her pets to Veterinary Clinics and other destinations, she started Petcabs.
There was a genuine need for a dedicated professional and cost-effective pet-friendly animal transport service allowing pet owners to travel with their pets in comfortable transport, for both owners and pets to destinations as required.

Business boomed until the Victorian State Labour Government intervened with relaxation of taxi laws allowing taxis to carry animals, and through ‘the recessions we had to have’ and the biggest lockdown in Australian history ‘Covid 19’ ‘another  State Labour Party initiative’, seriously damaged this and many other small and large businesses throughout Victoria with no compensation offered by the government.
Also, due to the un-imaginative federal government handouts, Petcabs along with many small and large businesses has been unable to obtain staff (drivers) making it impossible to to continue providing the elementary services of previous times.

Petcabs has survived the ‘recession we had to have’ and Covid lockdowns and will continue service as best we can.
